What another great feather in our cap! Yesterday’s Geauga Lake marker dedication was a great success. With nearly 100 people in attendance, people came from all over northeast Ohio to take part in the event. We had television coverage from WEWS News 5 and WOIO 19 and its sister station WUAB 43. Both ran coverage in their Sunday broadcast and this morning. We were also covered by KSU/NPR Radio, as well as the Chagrin Valley Times along with the Advocate. There was also an individual who plans to do a documentary on the Park. Thanks to all who helped out. Dale, Tim and Dick who sold merchandize and watched over our memorabilia, Katie who despite a busy “kid” schedule supplied the cookies, water and lemonade, and Jeff’s participation as chairman of the Landmark Commission and assistance during the event. Special thanks to Mike who not only purchased supplies for the event, but as President of the GLIA worked tirelessly to, as he put it, “gussy up” the park grounds. We have had a very successful year with the dedication of the Sheldon marker, the Sheldon Family reunion, and the Geauga Lake marker dedication. We have raised the awareness of the Society not only in Aurora, but across all of Northeast Ohio. Congratulations and thank you for making this all happen! Another email will be coming outlining information for our October 21st planning session to be led by Dale.
