Aurora Continues the Deed House Project
Once again the Aurora community has shown its support for the Ebenezer Sheldon Deed House project. The November 19th “Deed House Gala” was attended by 110 supporters who enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner, music provided by an Aurora High School orchestra quartet, and the opportunity to bid on silent auction items. The Aurora Historical Society unveiled its 2015 Ebenezer Sheldon Deed House Ornament. Through the organizing efforts of Kathlyn Brown the Society is nearing its goal of raising funds to complete the interior renovation of the Deed House, as well has to provide for educational programming centering on Sheldon’s accomplishments as Aurora’s first settler. Monies will also sustain the ongoing operation of the Deed House as a historical visitors’ center. Individuals still have the opportunity to support the project by making donations to the Aurora Historical Society. Be part of history!
