LOOKING BACK: Refurbishing the storage room and other areas of the basement is almost complete. Mold damage was remediated by removing the lower 4 ft of drywall. A backup sump system and a waterproofing system was also installed by the city. In these photos you can see the mold damage and the extensive plastic sheeting containment system that was installed to protect the collection and the health of people in the building. Our thanks to Jim Jordan, the Service Dept. and the City of Aurora staff, employees and administration during this nightmare.
Due to the scale of the renovation the museum and office areas were stuffed full of our collection of items. And will remain closed until December.
